Dear Royal Vale families,
The school administration is proud to provide Black History Month programming to the entire student body, from
grade K to 11. As every year, we have sought out content that honours Black Culture and celebrates Black Excellence.
The offerings will be presented during class time to reinforce to students that this is important learning.
Our students who identify with Black Culture are looking for more recognition and validation in the curriculum and
school life. The BHM programming at Royal Vale School is part of striving toward a more equitable school culture.
This is an issue that is important to the communities we serve therefore the school administration considers this
important learning for our students.
Listed below is the slate of activities in our school in addition to in-class learning activities offered by our
teachers. We hope this stimulates discussion for all our students and their families. Have a great month of
February!
